ThreadSpace: Hyperbol Server List Banner

I already talked about that little thing once, without much explanation on what it does. So I’ll get more into it right away.

What is ThreadSpace: Hyperbol?

Well, that is a game I used to play. I was playing this game as “Hyrkali”, and I was getting quite good at it. The goal is simple: destroy or get destroyed (if JackD is playing, it is more like “get pwned” then anything else… ;) ). You control a ship that is highly customizable and you can battle on different arena with different objectives, with team or not.

What’s been going on lately

by Nickolas on Dec.21, 2009, under Random bits

I’ve been working a lot lately on different stuff, so the update on the blog aren’t as fast as they used to be during the launching of the website. As you all know, the Christmas vacation are coming quickly and there’s always a lot to do BEFORE they come, website wise. So I had to work a lot on the next website that’ll be launched by the company I work with. Which reminds me I still got to write that “About” page…

Anyway, I upgraded to the latest WP, reinstalled a few plugins, and looked for a solution for automatic language detection… You can follow the discussion here: http://forum.wpml.org/topic.php?id=415

Syntax Highlighter Usage

by Nickolas on Dec.04, 2009, under Laboratory

I finally decided myself for using the SyntaxHighlighter Evolved plugin for displaying code. Reason is, even though I love Mootools, the Lighter.js class wasn’t quite that easy to use/implement.

Granted, I could have tried harder maybe, but I simply find the class a bit… unsupported.

Logo development

by Nickolas on Dec.04, 2009, under Random bits

You surely noticed that I didn’t really had a logo, but only a simple text made clickable on the top left corner of the page. So I took a pen and a few sheet of paper and started drawing what I thought would make a nice logo for my website.

The task appears to be simpler then it really is!

I first started out with simply writing the name of the website (NickoLabs), trying to style out those letters. I already had my slogan so I could build on that. Here is what some looked like… Keep in mind that I draw like that only when brainstorming… The whole idea is to shoot stuff on paper, stuff that resemble nothing, but sometime you come up with great ideas (well, sometime not THAT great but still…)
